Sarrault et Cie

The company was founded in November, 1851 by several "painters on glass", among which Alfred Sarrault, Athanase Clouzard, Louis This and several others.

In particular the firm explored ways to color stereoviews on glass.

In August of 1853 the company was transformed into "This, Soulier, Clouzard et Cie".

At that moment Alfred Sarrault left to pursue painting on glass on his own. The company was joined instead by Charles Soulier and several other new partners. The company now specifically added painting on glass photographs as one of its main tasks.

In 1854 Clouzard and Soulier would create a separate firm without Louis This, which would be called "Clouzard et Soulier".
